Do you have a treadmill at home? Unlike a gym, where the equipment is regularly serviced by professionals, it is up to you to look after it. Lack of proper lubrication can lead to noisy operation, faster wear and even failure. How do you know when your treadmill needs maintenance? Here are some key signs.

One of the most basic aspects of maintenance is regular lubrication of the belt. Silicone treadmill oil reduces friction between the belt and the deck, helping to prevent mechanical damage, excessive motor wear and unpleasant noises. But how do you know when your treadmill needs lubrication? Here are some important signs to look out for.

1. Increased noise during use

If your treadmill starts to make louder noises than usual, it may mean that the belt is rubbing against the deck with more friction. An unlubricated belt can cause squeaks, rattles or other annoying noises. This is the first sign that your treadmill needs to be lubricated with treadmill oil.

2. Tugging the running belt

When running or walking, the belt should move smoothly and evenly. If it jerks or slows down, especially when changing pace, this may indicate a lack of lubrication. Increased friction can lead to instability of movement, which can make exercising less comfortable.

In this case, the friction between the belt and the deck is more pronounced, which can lead to faster wear of the treadmill. Regular lubrication will help maintain optimal performance and extend the life of the equipment.
  • Daily intensive use – daily intensive use should be lubricated every 2-4 weeks. Daily use is when the treadmill is subjected to the most stress, resulting in faster wear and greater friction. Regular use of lubricant for treadmill helps to maintain high efficiency and also prevents mechanical components from overheating.

Regular use of silicone oil will help prevent costly repairs, ensure a comfortable workout and extend the life of your Treadmill. If your treadmill starts to make a noise, the belt starts to wiggle or the motor starts to overheat, do not ignore it - it probably needs lubrication!
